Fortinet VPN Client

The Fortinet client, once installed will be in your ‘running tasks’ in the bottom right of the screen. It’s a blue shield icon that looks like this:

Not connected  OR Connected

1. Double left click this icon to open or open from the shortcut on your desktop

2. Once open left click on  to get to the VPN connection screen.

3. Enter your current password and click on Connect.

4. Optional: you can save your password here if you wish and this will let you turn on auto connect. Please note when your password changes you will need to change it here too, refer to our password policy document for further guidance on this.

Auto Connect – the client will automatically try to connect the VPN when you sign in to windows. (on by default)

Always Up – this will attempt to keep the connection alive even when you’re not actively using the connection. (we generally advise not to use this option)

If you’ve saved your password you can right click on the icon in the taskbar and you’ll get an option to ‘Connect to’ without having to open the client window.
